drill them off, go to dealer and buy some replacements.

to dril lthem off properly, start with a center hole with a small bit (the bolts are pretty hard but i've done it before), and work your way up to the larger size. you do not need to drill very deep. use one of the 3 bolts you have off to compare how deep it must be. you are only going to be drilling a hole in the center larger then the threaded shaft of the bolt (essentially drilling the head off the bolt so the flywheel can come off, then you'll be able to remove the threaded shafts by hand). go very slow, take your time. you don't even have to drill all the way through the head of the bolts either. if you get really close, you may be able to wiggle the flywheel a bit till the head of the bolts pop off (but with 4 stuck, maybe not).

another thing you can try is tac welding a shaft to the head of the bolt and using the shaft to turn the bolt. if you don't have a welder, then this isn't an option.

*edit, and if you use the drilling method, you do not want to drill into the crank (but if you touch it, its not going to kill it... just don't go crazy). thats why i say go slow.

Don't know if you have removed those bolts yet but I'd thought I'd put in my 2 cents. If you have access to a torch, heat the bolts up and they will come right out.

What did you end up doing? I'm in the same boat. I have 3 or 4 that are stuck and now rounded off. I should have did more research and bought the proper socket before trying to take these off.

yep, torching helps out a lot getting those off, you have to make sure it stays hot before trying to crank on it. Sounds like his bolts are rounded off, which will make it more difficult to get it off. Or at worst case you can weld on a socket to the bolt and use a pry bar with long extention attached.

That's a better idea than I had lol. I was going to weld a nut to the existing bolts. Guess I'll pick up 3-4 extra sockets this evening

Well I've tried all I know so far... I've chewed up the bolts pretty bad so I have some buddies coming over to try welding something to the bolts.

This crap has been keeping me up at night I desperately need these 4 bolts off... I have a fully build trans coming back in a week or so and I'm going to be ordering new clutch discs soon as well.

I'm kind of in between welding something (bolt/socket) to these... or just cutting/drilling the heads off and hoping the threads back out of the crank fairly easy.

We welded bolts to them and they came right out with a 7amp electric impact. It wasn't pretty but they came off easy after that.

I really don't see what heading them up does other than loosen/remove the locktite. If you heat up the bolt it expands thus making it tighter. If you heat up what the bolts are in (the crank) then it would make sense.

Lesson learned... I will be buying a nice 6 point 17mm impact socket.

Well making the bolts hot might cause them to expand, but it also makes them softer and malleable(sp?).

if you drill them you may damage the surface between the crank and the flywheel... reason why i said that is because an evo was brought to our shop because of the same as you and the tryed to drill and and move the bolts without heating them... end and all they guy had to change the crank shaft out of his car

well what we did is just took a grinder and cutting wheel and took the heads out and after the flywheel came off the threads came out by hand.....u mostlikly need a new flywheel after doin it this way, unless your real carefull, none the less, kudos on taking on the clutch yourself, not all that hard if you ask me i got it down to 5 hours from the first bolt out to the last one in....

Thanks,
-Dan
