I keep hearing about the Evo guys in Europe and Japan talking about a "bung" in or near the exhaust system. What exactly are they talking about? They say removing the "bung" frees up horsepower....

 

Only thing that comes to mind is the O2 sensor bung. Don't see how it restricts power that much. Not worth the CEL.

 

I think they are talking about the bung hole.

i know the JDM evos only have 1 O2 sensor,when the US evos have 2.some one from the U.K said they get one of those O2 eliminators and take the O2 sensor off.then they close up the hole so the air flow straight and its not being distrupted.But who knows,those Brits thought that Al`s HP numbers were fake also.
