I shift the car at <2500 RPM to conserve gas most of the time. When the engine is cold and shifting under <2500 the 1-2 shift does not go through 'nicely.' This morning I accidentally went from 1st, down and to the right to neutral for a split second and then right into 2nd gear nice and smooth. Anyone else notice this?

When I drive the car in a spirited manner, and the car is warm I have no trouble shifting.

I drive an 06 EVO IX SE w/ approx. 8700 miles on it.
