tilton questions?

How would the Tilton twin cerametallic clutch be to dd? and how does it compare to the exedy twin? I know the carbon twin is no good for the street but not sure about the cerametallic.

The Tilton twin cerametallic isn't awful for daily driving, but there are probably better options. The clutch is very loud and has fairly harsh engagement. Around town at 30-40 mph it isn't too awful, but it seems to resonate a bit at highway speeds which gets old fast. I've read that others have had their input shaft splines worn off within a few thousand miles but mine has been fine for the last ~8000 miles. I don't do much drag racing, so I'm not sure how it is for that but it is great on the road courses. The light weight makes it incredibly easy to shift and rev match. Basically, this clutch compromises a lot of comfort and quiet for extra performance.

Have you driven the exedy twin as well? Can you compare the differences streetablity wise?

I've driven an Exedy twin a few times. Much quieter, smoother engagement, and holds power. I did not notice an improvement over stock other than the ability to hold power. I would call the Tilton a racing clutch and the Exedy twin a high-power street clutch.

We have found in one of these cases that ANOTHER SHOP built the stroker motor for the gentleman, removed the rear balance shaft and LEFT IN THE FRONT SHAFT on the oil pump.

In all fairness, I cannot blame Tilton with this additional information we now have.

The tilton is UNSPRUNG, very noisy to engage and sets off the p0300 code in many Evos.

Not having driven anything other than my Exedy twin, how would this compare with that since it has the hydraulic TOB? Any real difference, or no?

They shift great, no TOB to pop out and leave you taking out the trans out for no good reason. The engagement and noise setting off the knock sensor are the negatives.
