Help!!!!!! Pelase!!!
Help!!!!!! Pelase!!!
I have an Evo 8 with several upgrades and it needed a sprign kit for the forge diverter valve. I tested the car yesterday and continued today. I put the heaviest (red spring) in and took the car for a run. Occasionally, the car stalled at a stop light or waiting for a turn. This did not happen before when i had the next step down (blue spring) with 3 shims.
I NEED HELP ASAP!!!!
if anyone knows whats up please help! can too stiff a spring in a diverter valve cause the engine to bog down and stall???

if properly installed, there should not be a difference in the spring chaning of the bov causing your car to stall. have you double checked your work? are you recirculating your bov?
the valve is a recirc valve. i installed everything as i took at apart. vacuum hose connected, all screws tight. one issue mightbe that the red spring im using is actually smaller in diameter then the blue. would the spring holding onto the cap of the valve cause these issues?

Is it installed the right way? I know it sounds silly but it happens more than most people realize. Did you do a leak test after installing it. Since you called it a DV and not a BOV I am going to assume that you have it recirculated. Is that correct? If not it may be open under vacuum and allowing unmetered air in. Do you have a wideband installed? what is it reading when this happens?

another thing might be the valve of the bov not seating right, i know it takes some muscle to reassemble the forge bov back by hand; possibly the valve is not seating correctly letting your air circulate back into the intake.
the only thing i noticed different was the fact that the red spring caught the cap of the diverter valve and held on. the diameter is smaller than the blue. aside from that everything, to the best my my knowledge, is the same. is the red spring being able to fit tightly onto the cap of the valve the issue?
