Washer fluid contains alcohol, that was my point about the alcohol comment. Did your windshield every catch on fire when you cleaned it?
Mixed with water it is not very flammable. Plus if it was a fire hazard, do you think the owners manual would tell you to use washer fluid?

I second that Timzcat! The manual says to use washer fluid.

If you buy the washer fluid for de-icing it has a higher alcohol content. That's what I have in mine. And it is NOT flameable.......

Timzcat just let them use water when it is winter time, another reason you should follow factory instructions. Windshield washer fluid only please.

i read for the evo, it is not recommended to use just water because it can cause fungus growth... its interesting that in sti, they recommend water... maybe just the way its setup physically..... i would say either windshield wiper fluid or just very very diluted soapy water... i was even thinking mixing watered down wiper fluid plus some alchohol... hmmm hehe

there we go.... a mix of wiper fluid or light soup (to prevent fungus), alchohol(for super low melting point) and a couple ice cubes to keep the temperature low....
