used Evo, stroker or no?
used Evo, stroker or no?
its pretty simple actually...lets say you were to buy a used Evo 8, would you buy one that had a built 2.3l or would you buy opt one that had a new, but stock engine?
heres a little background. i have an 03 VIII that has a ring issue in #3 (bad, bad tune + bad gas). I've got everything to do a VERY solid 2.3l stroker including a LOW mileage longblock. but i'll be selling the car once the motor issue is taken care of. i'm not sure if i should just build it and then sell it OR put in the stock motor and then sell off all the additional parts and the car. what i'm trying to determine is whats going to help the resell value more?
so i want to hear what some of you think.

Yes....90% of your potential buyers probably don't know what a stroker is and would probably think the car is modded to hell. So sell it as close to stock as possible, in most cases used cars sell better/faster that way.
I would never even consider buying a used car with a built engine unless the build was done by one of the few reputable shops and all papers were available for me to examine before purchasing.
