HKS or Greddy timing belt?

I'm going to change my timing belt this weekend. I need some input on which is better. different shop tells me this and that, but i want to hear from people who actually has them on. any input is appreciated. Oh it dosen't have to be HKS or Greddy. My car is all stock. only aftermarket is ACT clutch.

Mitsu OEM. Honestly It lasted this long, it will do it again. Not heard many stories of broken timing belts due to too much power. Also, your tensioner, pullies, waterpump BS belt, will not last as long as what greedy and HK$ claim to, so you have to take it off to replace the other stuff later. But will you put that 60K old HK$ or Greedy back on? OEM Hands down. Unless you like the color purple or Blue and just want your timing belt to look cool.

go oem,i went with a power enterprise kevlar belt and it chewed up my oil pump.the aftermarket kevlar belts are super stiff and wear stuff down alot faster than an oem belt.mines only took 500 miles to destroy the pump.however there are plenty of people who have great results from the performance belts.i will just stick to oem and not risk cooking my motor again.good luck

Why becuase it works? Do you have test data to support your opinion? Do you make over 1000hp and 1000lbs tq and it hasn't broken yet? Or just becuase you got it installed and you car still runs?

How about the Gates Racing timing belt? People with timing belts, let us know how many miles is on your belts and if you noticed any changes. I am in the same situation as the op. I really want to get an aftermarket belt but now I'm seriously considering OEM.

oem all the way... many times aftermarket ones are alot tighter casuing the oil pump to mess up in the future from being to tight

can you elaborate on how you know this? who else has had this happen to them? this really makes me consider not getting a kevlar belt

i have the greddy....no problems so far, but I kind of regret it. I heard they cause problems. Although come to think of it, I always get a loud tick after it was installed...who knows
