This info is quite old... That is One problem I have with doing "Research" on the Internet.. The info out there can be quite old, dug up at any time and people take it as Gospel..

Same problem I have with Forums when they enforce their "Search First" rules..

In the case of this filter test, As far as the K&N, and other wetted gauze filters, it shows their poor efficiency which still holds true today as they are using the same media for ever.

AMSOIL no longer uses the foam filter media. Although it was an excellent filter and out performed wetted gauze filters and most other filters, New Technology has come to the ForeFront where AMSOIL now utilizes a dry Nano-Fiber Media which flows as well as a wetted gauze filter but filters up to 50 times better...

how often do you have to clean the filter now that it filters 50X better than the other kinds?

Under Normal driving conditions, 1 yr/25,000 miles with the use of a LIGHT Vacuum or LIGHT air pressure...

Filter life is 4 yr/100,000 miles with proper maintenance..

If you wish to pay List Price, that is the way to go.... Can't see why anyone would want to do that though....
