Vent to atmosphere?

I'm wondering on a stock IX MR if a BOV can be vented to atmosphere as opposed to being recirculated, and if it can will it cause any problems with drivability/reliability? Once I get a good answer, you guys can delete and make more space for something more important.

Its a little difficult to understand what exactly you are trying to do because you ask a question about an Evo BOV but yet you drive an SRT-4....

For an EVO: You can physically setup the Diverter Valve to blow off to the atmosphere and not recirculate but you will cause a small problem. The ecu is programmed to recirculate that air and there for enriches the a/f ratio. If you vent the pressure to atmosphere, the ecu will still dump in the extra fuel thinking the air was recirculated. And this will cause problems with how the motor runs.

You can get a tune to blow it off to the atmosphere. So to make things short, it is mechanically possible, but the stock ecu program it is not recommended.

Now if you wanted to hook it up to the srt-4 and use it on that car, then I believe it is duable as long as you have the correct flange or weld it on.
