Idle noise!!plz help
Go do what i mentioned. I am almost certain that is your problem. Why beat yourself up over a small problem without even checking anything. The Mitsubishi mechanic probably just sprayed it down with wd-40 to shut you up. After talking to a bunch of them they really have no idea what they are doing most of the time. Evo's are kinda pushed away from their customer service.
sorry i couldnt listen to the video ,but you have to narrow it down to somthings ,
1st .decide where its comming from, head/valve cover area, timming area , or block.
what were you doing before the noise happen . anything you might beable to remeber before the noise was there a pop, ping ,rattle ect.
2nd Check certin things , oil low ,coolant ,bolts missing any of the covers loose ,anything leaking .
how many miles do you have on the car ?

good... look on that side , even though they replaced the tensioner and idler it could be bad .. but take a look at it .. if you have tools remove the acc belts(ac/and alt) and start the car ..See if the noise is still there ..
if you feel like working on it .. or just taking it to the dealer ..
you can most likely figure it out your self , working on a car is not hard at all ..

oh i love working on my own car and actually prefer it to goin to mechs...but i just dont want to F**k somthin up and go to mitsubish and and have them void my warranty, im a poor college kid..lol..i need that warranty....
well pulling the belts off would help you decide if the noise is comming from that tensioner or idler .. but the problem with that is if you need a new one and take it to get warranty .. they are going to ask you .."why did you mess with it "
with 25,000 miles i would just take it to the dealer ...
