Baffled muffler so the cops will shut up?

So the cops where i live are cracking down on mufflers/exhaust. NH inspection says you need to have a muffler with a baffle. I have a Megan exhaust with a straight through muffler and ive gotten away with a warning a few times. I just dont want to restrict my exhaust flow by going with a typical flowmaster style muffler. What are your suggestions?

You can drive with the car off an they will still stop you for anything that looks aftermarket. Cops are dicks.

The cobb exhaust has a very "stockish" look and sounds great.

Cheers!

If you go with a quiet exhaust most you lose is a couple HP. ITs only when your running for most HP possible will it acutally hurt you.

yea dude I was the same way when I had that Evo. You know what I decided? that the few HP youl lose you wont even notice and it is worth more than to get tickets or worry about the po po every time you take that car out. not only that but that car needs some serious sound change becuase it is retarded loud and pretty raspy too under heavy load with that setup

Well i put a cat on it and its not as bad. since you originally did the exhaust, do you know what i can do to use the most of my existing exhaust as i can? Ive got a local exhaust shop, but they usually only do like flow master and magnaflow.

I live in NH, and I've been ticket free with all of my exhausts. No warnings either. I'm currently running a Buschur 3" with a magnaflow and no problems yet. Wonder why you get hassled so much.

You can get a Vibrant race muffler and put it down stream to quiet it down, maybe two if you need. I've looked into the option for awhile and I'm still thinking of doing it at some point. A local dealer/ installer for the Vibrant stuff in NH is Synaptic 3 Engineering in Candia. www.synaptic3.com
