Major Roadblock! Please Help!
I posted this over in the General Tuning forum but it seems rather dead so I figured I would post over here. Mods, you may delete the post in the other forum if you want!
Hi all:
First off a little background.. I bought my IX MR about a year ago new and loved it but wanted more.. I started adding parts (TBE, MBC, Cone Filter, Walbro, LICP, Wideband etc.) and decided to get it tuned by Mellon. We got though 7 revisions of his flashing when all of a sudden the car started acting funny. After the 7th revision we had the A/F just about dialed in and were about ready to move onto moving the timing up. Anyway on the 8th flash the 1st pull went fine and then the second pull the A/F went crazy rich (9.8-10.2) the entire run. I sent the logs off to him and he though there may be a boost leak causing it to run rich. I did multiple boost leak tests to 25psi and it held pressure for about 1.5 min before it was back to 0. I didnt hear any hissing at all. I also had a clamp on my MBC line as suggested by others. Anyway I flashed rev 7 back into the car and it was back to the way it used to be running fine. I spoke with Chris and he suggested to check again for leaks which I did and found nothing again today. I did about 5-6 pulls today and logged them all and it is still acting up. I'm kind of getting fed up and looking for someone who may have an answer as to why my car is acting up. I looked though the roms and nothing seems out of place in my fuel or timing maps from one revision to the next but yet my car doesn't seem to like the last revision. I would like to get the tuning wrapped up so I can have the car detailed and let it rest for a while(highway pulls cover the car in bugs). I can post the logs up for anyone who wants to see them. Please help me out!
Thanks so much!
Jon

Wait so flashing it back to revision 7 works but not 8?
There has to be a change somewhere to account for the radical drop then like different injector/maf scaling or even maf smoothing.

Try disconnecting the battery and jump on the parkway for a smooth 20min drive. See if this helps.
Also, analyze your logs with Mellon with a fine toothed comb and try to find out if the ecu will hint at your issues.
If 7 works ok but not 8, see what the differences are and take it from there.

Rev 7 seems to work fine yes. It makes no sense. I looked at both maps and the changes are minimal. Ill leave my battery deisconnected all day and see what happens tonight. Any other input is appreciated!
Thanks
Thanks
Well its not rocket science if one version goes rich and one does not there must be a change. There aren't too many things that would cause it to go rich tuning wise MAF Smoothing, injector scaling, injector latency, maf size, and i'm probably missing 1 or 2 more.

jon hang in there, my tuning laptop went belly up so I'm having to wipe it out and re-install everything. I either have some bad memory or a bad hard drive so I'm not out of the woods yet.

Ok.. I put my stock airbox with K&N panel in to see if my open filter was casuing some erratic readings in the maf causing the car to go super rich.. I'm going to go log a run or two now.
