Unhappy intake manifold problem??

Hello this is my situation: A friend and I have recently put on a ported intake manifold on my evo 8 well we discovered that it could be ported more and so we of course did. Well the problem is now when I get on it the rpm gauge sticks about 5k rpm and it just seems to rev at that point for a second then goes on.
The car idles fine and everything, mind you while installing one of the bolts did not go all the way through but i do not think it is leaking due to the fact that the idle is stable. Also the a/f jumps from like 14 to 10 rather quickly. Other than that the car feels pretty strong... any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated

Don't guess, do a boost leak test. Idle can be stable with a boost leak.

Do a boost leak test!
