Tilton C/C Clutch users, what do you think of it?

I know it's a few high tq guys out there using Tiltons c/c clutch, how is it working for you?

I'm going to order a new clutch on Monday, I think I will go with the Tilton, my 2nd hand choice is the Carbonetics Tripe plate.

It's for my 42r car so no ot talk about "other clutches would handle the power just fine".

You got the C/C version?
What is it that makes it suck in uphill? Is it that you haven't heated the plates enough?

Tilton C/C here. About 2500 miles, probably 20 passes at the drag strip and quite a few roll races. This clutch is handsdown a badass clutch.

It is a little touchy and that's why I'm guessing raiceboi697 said it sucks going up hill. I usually try doing "rolling stops" if I'm going up hill to keep the car moving otherwise chances of stalling are high.

The Tilton isn't like the Exedy carbon clutches, you don't need to heat them up to grab...they grab all the time.

only problem with tilton clutches is it takes forever!!! to get it back when you have it rebuilt. Mine has been there for two weeks and I still haven't got the call to pay for the rebuild after they inspect it.

The tilton rebuild can be very cheap depending on what is wrong with it. If you are having trouble with your rebuild status call and talk to Kirk he will help you out.

I have seen tilton rebuilds only cost $350 dollars and they generally take about a week once they have it.

Tilton Carbon/Carbon is THE BEST!

Carbonetics Tripe plate. No one really gives this setup a chance. I got it and cant wait to put it in. Ive drove 3 cars with this clutch 2 of them had 42R's on them the clutch does not miss a heartbeat. The third car had at 40R on it and it was a daily driver and the car gets road raced 2 events a year. Last time i checked 47k miles on the car clutch is still within spec. You will not be able to say that with tilton carbon.
