Weird idle wandering issue...

Ok, so this seems really weird, but here it goes. From what I know, here is how things unfolded...

Noticed some oil splash under the hood and realized, like a dummy, that I hadn't emptied my catch can in WAY too long. After a whole bunch of oil emptied from the can (the Saiku twin can), I closed the valve on the bottom and turned the car on. Car is idling at like 2,000 rpms (normally 1,000). Thought maybe the throttle was sticky or something, so I tapped the gas. Still there. THought maybe the block oil catch can had messed with fuel trims, so I drove around for awhile. Still weird.

Funny thing is, right before I emptied the catch can I had turned the car on to pull it out of the garage. Idle was fine.

Idle now fluctuateds between 750 and 2000 rpms. When it drops real low, it feels like it wants to stall and the oil light comes on. I have S1 cams and have never had this issue before. The tune has been on the car for a year without issue. Anyone have any ideas?

You probably sucked a bunch of oil into the intake manifold.

I guess that's possible, but the car seems to run fine when not idling.

It could be a vacuum problem. Look at your fuel trims at idle and see if they changed from before.

Erik send me a mitslogger log of idle and cruise with fuel trims, tps, timing, etc

You caused a vacuum leak when you emptied/removed your catch can. Check very carefully around the area where you were. This is a typical "false air" issue. I'll bet $5. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WORK!

Ok, let me get around to doing that. Got a new laptop, and I am switching everything over...

Actually, I didn't remove the catch can...just unscrewed the little valve on the bottom of the can...doesn't mean I didn't screw something up though...
