TurboXS-anyone got any inside info?

I'm pretty much sold on the Utec and turboback exhaust, but I'm curious if the intercooler kit will have silicone piping like the WRX kit or not. The reason I'm asking is that my friend has the kit for the WRX, and he has had problems. The problems persist with the silicone piping, the kit is metal piping up top in the engine bay, but for some reason they used the silcone to connect to the fmic. The silicone has cuts in it from the metal frame and it balloons under high boost. My guess is that they used the silicone because it can bend and fitt easier for a front mount setup in a WRX, since the car wasn't designed with a front mount in mind. The Evo is another story though, with a stock fmic, so pipe routing should be a lot easier. Don't be fooled by the picture they show on the turboxs site for the Evo intercooler because it's actually the kit for the WRX. So if anyone has any info, I would appreciate it.

Um the EVO is not a WRX.... Atleast last time I checked they had nothing but the wheels are round in common.

Plus your friend is a flaming Foo if he has cuts in the IC hoses. It takes less than $2 in fuel hose and a utility knife of some kind to solve those issues.

Actually, he's not a "flaming Foo", but thanks for your extensive help on detemining that the Evo is not a WRX, I wouldn't have guessed.

thanks, I will try calling them. I wasn't sure if they would be comfortable with giving out details before the kits were released.

Thats strange.... I must be a freaking member of mensa or something because I stuck my TurboXS FMIC on my WRX wagon and then pulled it off 6K miles later and it looked exactly the same...... No cuts or nothing.

I can't say I have seen all the kits available for the Evo, but this certainly seems to be the best!

Nice pipes!

Utec is good only if you want to take your car and have it dyno tuned every 2 weeks.

This is true, both Utec and Ecu-Tek will de-tune the ECU after a few weeks.

Blahhhhh.
