FP Green turbo

I decided to go for the Green turbo but I want to ask if it is a straight forward instalation. I know I would need to be reflashed , but other than that will I need anything special? There is no one near aquainted with turbo engines that can get me out of trouble so I really need a setup that will not give me a big problem.
I am currently running a 3 inch catless turbo back from buschur, a manual boost control set at 21psi. , a buschur air intake and a Dynoflash. I will add a racing intercooler with upper and lower piping at the same time I'll instal the Green. How much HP do you thik I will end up with? I only have access to 92 oct. fuel.
Thanks

You need more boost to take advantage of your turbo and forge waste gate, since you only have access to 92 oct. consider E85 or alky (i wouldnt on alky)

Do they HAVE E85 in Mexico? I'm sure methanol for a meth kit could be found though. Otherwise you may as well stick with the IX turbo and not spend the money for a green if you can't get the benefits of running high boost

Are you going to do a mail in flash or something of that nature to take advantage of the increased airflow? Or tune yourself? If so i would look into meth if it's available to get the most out of the green.

E85 is not available down here but methanol or denatured alcohol is so I could run an alky kit. It it a big deal to install one of this alky kits? And yes, I will have a mail tune, last time I sent my ECu to dynoflash

I would recommend custom tune with alky.

meth kit shouldnt be TOO hard if you have some mechanical know-how. you might also want to invest in a spare lap top, a tantrix cable and learning how to tune your own car. when you really start increasing boost and adding things like alcohol, you really need to tweek and fine tune your specific car. a lot of guys on here learn to tune themselves. just read, ask questions and take notes.

I thought about learning to tune my ecu but I never did because at that time I had decided that my car worked so nicely that I would not mess with it anymore. But now things changed, I need the extra power for the track.

What type of track racing will you be involved in? Will it be Drag Racing, or road course?

Can you get race gas for your track days? You will put out way more power with your IX turbo on a race gas flash than you ever will with a Green turbo on a 92 octane tune? Just get ECUFlash and a Tactrix cable, run race gas on track days, and have Al burn you a race flash in addition to your pumpgas tune..

Installing a meth kit shouldn't be to tough, just look through the forums(how to/installs) and you should find enough info to get the job done. I think going with a smc kit would be the easiest and most straightforward to install, and from what i have read and heard the hfs kits are a little more complex(scheides has a good review on this kit with details), but i'm sure you could tackle the project.

Yes, I can get race gas. Probably Vp C 16 but it is extremely expensive and a pain to get. If it were available all the time I would not mind to use it for the trac. I race road course..

Do you live in Mexico City? If so, then you are just about 600 miles from San Salvador. FYI, Al makes tuning trips down to El Salvador periodically. so, you can drive down there in a few hours and get a road tune, a race gas tune, or have him give you an alky tune, as he sells Aquamist kits.

You'd need to Email him and find out when he has another trip scheduled to El Salvador. Space is extremely limited however. He can give you the contact info of the local host down there.

If you're going to run Alky or race gas, then you are better off with a custom tune anyway. Good Luck!

Thumbs up

+1
Get a laptop and tactrix cable.
Much easier than sending the ecu off for a generic tune.

PM me if you need help with all the info.

No, I live in Monterrey wich is about 500 miles south of Houston TX. So Houston should be a better deal for me.
I will find a good tunner there.
