Why is stock fuel pressure 43.5 psi?

Why is stock fuel pressure 43.5 psi?

I noticed this is the figure for many EFI engines. Could someone be kind enough to explain why? Thanks.

That's because that is what the industry standard rates fuel injector flow at, 43.5psi.

But I think most engines fuel pressure is set at 40psi.

Perhaps to be more specific then.... is there a reason why the "industry standard" is 43.5 psi instead of, say, 38.5 psi?
