Rev, I've ported and designed cylinder heads and intake manifolds for 8 more years then you have been alive. Keep talking it's you who looks like the idiot. I'm done.

Yea and a cylinder head is not a log manifold. I am sure after the first couple of years you did it you knew exactly what you were doing. After that you are just continuing to do your job. Somebody like you should know how simple a port job like this is. Arguing it just seems worthless. You don't need 30 years of experience to port a manifold. I am glad you are done since you just keep rambling on.

that was a generalizing and yes they do benefit from the same gains. That is not an argument on this thread.

no its not an argument. but you said they do the same thing. no they dont. some add power some loose power some do nothing over stock. i was just saying where you said they do the same thing was another false statement.

Who are you? What experience or knowledge do you think you have over DB?

Just shut the F**K up!!
This is the type of asinine statements you need to refrain from since this is a public forum where ppl congregate to share/express ideas/fallacies/opinions...I would just like to point out revmoto actually does a sufficient job of defending himself. I'm not here to promote any company, since BR or PPI would be the top two to send stock manifolds to, but rather say I have to agree with revmoto only in the idea that proven companies will vary by a minute difference. Granted, I didn't test that theory out by testing each companies' ported manifold but rather I trust they have more than sufficient knowledge which will usually dictate the type of work customers clearly hope for.

What I want to know is if porting all the way down the runners provides a real benefit vs just porting an inch down and really polishing it til its smooth?

I have been told it was for cosmetic purposes to port all the way down and would provide no benefit. I'd like to see some testing.

How come gasket matching the exhaust manifold is bad?

The only downside I saw in my logs from gasket matching was stock spool characteristics compared to quicker spool but definitely aided top end and smoothened out the power band. This is great for somebody who wants to do it themselves for some extra power but don't have the resources to port match. Remember working on cars is a hobby. People on this site forget that. The bashing of this needs to stop because people decide to try it rather than clicking a button and having it show up at our doorstep.
