maximum safe boost

i may be contradicting my self but can anyone recommend the highest safe level of boost to run on a standard evo 7, with no tune, (ps i have tried running 21 psi and runs fine no ping no nothing just pulls like mad) its not leaning out either this has been thoroughly tested, are there any drawbacks over a long period for the motor? anything i may be forgetting?

You are wasting your time.

Up with the boost, down with the ignition timing until it hits zero or you hit fuel cut, whichever comes first.

I wouldn't risk trying to figure it out. Just get a tune! What worked for someone elses car and ECU may not necessarily be true for yours!
