I think I paid around 1100 usd for 55 gallon drum of VP Import.

One thing to think about is that, VP Import is such a good fuel, unless you are making A LOT of power, it's probably not needed. Unless your making like over 550 atw I'd probably recommend a 112 or so type fuel.

That said I'm no expert so get more advice. But remember the higher the octane the slower it will burn so you need some serious cylinder pressures to need that slow burn. You will lose power if you aren't needing that higher octane rating.

Well if you are in the 700 range... this is how I thought about it. Because I am on a GT35R which is in the 700 range. I decided I preferred to pay the extra money over C16 to get VP Import just for the added safety margin.

No doubt about it... 120+ is safer then 116 octane if pushing a car on race fuel. You will most likely begin to push the mechanical limitations of the motor before you get the VP Import to det or knock.

You are not going to need VP import... honestly its not worth the extra money on a street driven car.

If you have your heart set on using an expensive leaded race fuel, use whatever you can get the easiest and the cheapest and provides the octane for the HP goal. As long as its a good name brand it will be consistant.
