wedge coller popped off
I just spend a good 6 hours trying to get the transmission back on after a clutch install, I have the ACT HDSS, Iafter I got the tranny on I checked the wedge coller to find out that it is a little "cockeyed", one side is part way out, when I engage my clutch shoud'nt the TB lockinto it an straiten it self out...DON'T TELL ME i GOT TO TAKE MY TRANNY OFF AGAIN!!
Push the clutch fork all the way to the drivers side of the car till the clip is fully seated and the wavy washers are all the way compressed... then release and check again. Should be straight at this point.
had to pull the tranny back off, found out the retaining ring on the backside was also off I put it back on, does'nt seem to be damaged, will try to put the tranny back on tommoroww
You have to be very careful putting the trans back in. Its easy to knock the clip off the pressure plate. It used to happen every once in a while with the 8s and 9s but we have gotten very good at them and havent knocked a clip off in forever.
I just did a clutch on a X today and we knocked the clip off twice before finally getting the trans up. The X trans is PACKED in that thing. Not a fun job.
