Thumbs up is it okay to resurface an ACT 3200lb pressure plate?

My friend is going to give me his worn out act 3200lb pressure plate and told me that it can be resurfaced. My question will it still hold like a bn one or will it not last as long. I like to drag race and I also wanted to know if i go this route would it be as reliable as a brand new act? Any input would be great.

To be done right, the pressure plate has to be disassembled, casting resufaced on a flywheel grinder, then reassembled, tested, and rebalanced.
