gear popping out

I have an 06' Evo with a kartboy short shift kit, act clutch and flywheel, along with lots of bolt ons. I recently tracked (road racing) it in 100 degree weather. As I was driving back to my house on the highway, it popped out of 5th gear about 4 times within a half hour. it scared me so I went in the slow lane in 4th gear for a while, then put it back in 5th and it didn't happen again. I asked a friend who owns a tranny shop up north and he said it's probably not a tranny problem, but a boot in the short shifter kit that got too hot and couldn't hold the gear in place. Anybody ever experience this?

i have an 05 rs and i have the same problem. i took it to the dealer and they said my shift cables are binding and ordered new ones. my shifter also moves hard. it would generally pop out of fith under very light acceleration or while slowing down in gear.
