Injector size for E-85
Well, plannin on switching over to e85, did a little research, and purchased a set of PTE 880's along with an AP fuel rail. Now my question is, to run e85 efficiently, you need 30% more fuel above your stock 560cc injectors, so why is it that ppl jump to 1000's and say that no less should be used? Doing the math, 30% more of 560 would be roughly 730, so why wouldnt the 880's work? They CAN be scaled........ Dont wanna get tuned and find out Im in need of more fuel. Should I sell for 1000's, or will they work?...........
Need some help ppl, thanks. BTW, its an evo8 w/9 turbo and aaallll bolt ons.

Around 325whp on a MUSTANG dyno, so IDK, prob around 360 on a DJ. I want around 370 on the MD, which might translate to 410 or so on a DJ. Basically, I wanna lock in good 11 sec passes.
You don't need more than 880s, but people say to get 1000s in case you are going to ever go beyond the stock turbo. For instance, if you go all out on E-85 with the IX turbo, you can stay within reasonable tolerances on your IDCs. If you go to a Green, you go beyond those and need 1000s, so since there isn't much downside to 1000s (same cost and can be tuned on stock ECU), then it makes sense to do it.
I personally only did 850s, because I didn't want to have my gas tune (91oct) to be on 1000CCs with stock ECU - it's a little tougher.
E-85 should definitely lock in good 11-sec passes. Mine is a raped ape in both heat and altitude - consistent as hell and more powerful than ever. You'll love it.

91 is our premium fuel here, so it's my fall-back if I'm unable to find E-85 for whatever reason. I haven't used that tune yet, but I have it just like anyone would who runs E-85, since E-85 isn't everywhere.
They are pretty easy to dial in. I think I had the first set dialed in about 20mins.
That's good to hear, but I don't know if all tuners are as skilled.
I agree on going with the 1,000 cc injectors. Why not get a little bigger than you need to have some room to play with down the road if you ever want more power? That way if you ever change turbos again you won't have to by injectors too.
