oh good, the "decent driving" high schooler with the big turbo who's only crashed once in the past year will be roll racing...

I know we shouldn't judge on someone just for being young, but please don't kill anyone else, and good luck to you!

And i've been running close to 400 wtq for almost two years on the stock tranny, no issues with handling the power.

Man it's a good thing HP and Torque aren't directly related through some sort of equation like HP = TQ*RPM/5252

It all depend son the driver of the vehicle and what he or she does in order to make the car run as they like while not damaging anything with doing so.
I believe you should learn the vehicle inside and out as stock and reach a driving skill up to the point that stock isn't enough for you. Then and only then it would be worth upgrading in the return that the knowledge you've acquired while at stock will help you decide on what to fix in order for you to go faster and handle better as you upgrade to achieve and advance your driving skills with any car for that matter. I believe thats what makes a great tuner, driver in the long run. You can grow with your car instead of throwing in upgrades that you have to grow into.

Um, yeah, that's why you can't just say peak whp, because it depends on RPM. If I say I make a peak of 600whp, then tell me what my peak torque is. No idea, right?

I can't give you a figure only due to the lack of knowledge of what you have creating the spin internally as far as upgrades, but this might help you out on determining your answer!

It won't, because it was a hypothetical question. You can't determine TQ from HP unless you know RPM. Even then, there's no guarantee that was the peak torque point anyway.

I have seen stock MR's blow trannies on road courses. HP is not the problem.

If you are not going to take it to the track, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah I never wrecked my car, I was driving home and a deer ran out in front of me, that has absolutely nothing to do with the age of the driver...i mean that kind of stuff happens but i have never CAUSED an accident....anyways i never track the car but i do drag race it occasionally

Damn go figure a bunch of hater's in thread picking on him because he is in high school. Leave it to hater of the year Warrtalon to start the bad mouthing. I would have never guessed.

I know Sean personally and know he not only pays for the car himself but also has done every bit of work to it including the twin disk install. He can out drive most of the guys we know/ go to the track with. Don't listen to these E-thugs man keep doing your thing and if your need any help tuning/working on your car give me a buzz.

My car was running roughly 500 awhp on 2.0L for the last 2 years without any trans issues on my 6speed, but they were mostly 3rd gear pulls. Prior to my car going in for more work, I was running 500/500 on 2.3L without trans issues.

However, I don't feel confident doing any kind of event with this power and the 6 speed. I've done 4th gear pulls before, but not many at all. Heat will kill the 6 speed 4th gear even at sub-400 awhp. As much as I hate even thinking about giving up my 6 speed, if I plan on tracking my car seriously, my next mod would be an upgraded 5 speed with trans cooler. My .02

I was running 360tq for a year 4th gear grinded real bad starting at 10k miles. Eventually 6th gear and reverse broke. I swapped to a 5spd world of difference with longer ratios. Much more precise shifting no grinding. You can pick up a used 5spd for around a $1000. and sell your 6spd if its in good condition b4 you blow it.

I made 593whp, 480ftlbs. and my 6 speed lasted about a month. I swapped to a shep 5 speed and haven't looked back since.

if you will track the car better get an oil cooler for the mr tranny. if you want you can also get the 6-speed rebuilt at TRE.
