I may explore the custom gearset Jon at TRE had made by Williams for the 6 speed. It probably ain't cheap though, so if you're in high school you ain't gonna be enough of a playa to roll that way....

BTW, I used "playa" and "roll" to be funny.

avoid launching and long RR sessions and it should do alright.

I have a pretty high HP MR but I did once lose 3rd and 4th gear shift fork after 3 track days.

I was one of the "OG" people that fragged their 6spds at the track. Ripped the teeth off 4th gear because the extreme heat made the gear soft (what Jon told me).

At the time I was running around 320wtq on a Mustang dyno.

I had it rebuilt by TRE and have been running it for about 10k miles now. Did 2 track events or so on it. Then I took a break from the track for about year.

Currently I have been running about 360wtq through it on the street for about 2 months. 29psi, organic sprung hub street clutch.

I have a TRE stage 2 5speed that has been sitting in it's box for about 7 months. It's going in as soon as I stop being lazy about it. I like my 6 speed but I don't want to chance dealing with a fragged one again.

if your 450wheel or lower the 6 speed is awesome. Anything above that then there is just too much shifting.

Hmm I been looking like crazy for a 5 speed evos but after reading around and considering im not going more than stage 2 im not gonna worry about it. I was like crap can the 6 even hold stage 2 power without blowing? I guess nothing can be worse than the WRX 5 speed.. seriously.

I know Sean personally and know he not only pays for the car himself but also has done every bit of work to it including the twin disk install. He can out drive most of the guys we know/ go to the track with. Don't listen to these E-thugs man keep doing your thing and if your need any help tuning/working on your car give me a buzz.

Im proud of you Kent, standing up for Sean like that. Ill have to buy you a cookie next time I see you

Hate on him if you want, but there are plety of "mature adults" with faster cars than his that less responsible when it comes to driving. The high school thing is a bad stereo type. There is not to many ppl on this forum that can say they have never street raced or pushed there car beyond the legal limits. So lay off the kid, you don't even know him, he comes to the forum to get advice... and just gets riddiculed for his age. Who really needs to grow up here? Sean take all **** as a complement, their just jealous they did not have one in high school.

you know...i can say that this site has some nice guys! not like the 350 z sites...bunch of hater's!! ALL OF THEM!!

so when you guys get done with your Montel Williams show..answer me this...

Is it worth taking out the clutch line re stricter valve? I've heard on a awd it allows a little slip so you dont slam axles and cause a break, or slam the clutch.

Was your 6 speed rebuild the one he currently offers?

I think he had a rebuild service on the 6 a while back, took it off the site, and has a different one up there now.

OT: My only point to this would be that the number of deaths on this site regarding people driving Evos have been disproportionately skewed towards those 25 and under. Yeah, I know, terrible stereotype.
