What is the best boost controller to go with, and how much is it safe to tweak the boost?

 

i have the HKS EVC.. most people i know with the boost controller has this one.. But being the best.. i dont' know

 

On a stock car (stock A/F ratios), you won't make extra much power after 23 or so psi, since the car will run so rich that it will not transalte any extra boost into power -- this is why most people opt for ECU management (SAFC or E-Manage), so they can run a nice level of safe boost (19-20 psi), and lean out A/F's a bit. Also, the stock turbo become ineffecient after 23 psi anyway. I would suggest around 21 to 21.5 psi for safe boost on stock A/F's.

Edit: Let me change that to like 20 psi ... considerding someone just blew a head gasket running 21 psi.

 

I just installed a Greddy Profec B spec II, it seems to be one of the lowest cost EBC's and I give the performance a definiate thumbs up. There are several adjustment you need to make, but once you get it dialed in it works great.

 

I just installed Apexi AVC-R. Still learning on how to tweak the settings.

 

The Blitz SBC is sweet, small, and not intrusive.
