Ignore the plethora of ignorant comments Philly, sorry I suggested you ask.
I think we need to look into just importing the JDM auto trans. I'd like to have one myself. If you want me to I can look into bringing in two complete units. I'm not sure if the rear diff gearing is going to need changed or not. I'm fairly certain well need the trans/transfer case/trans ECU and a wiring harness.
I'll contact someone I have over there and see if I can get some further help on this.

Hey David If you can look into it that would be great. I just
at the comments. Why am I going to pay $40,000 for a car I dont like. I can put together an VIII or a IX for under $10,000.00 and no payments. Just look at this link and see what I been working on. the 3rd and 4th pic is the one I am doing for the wife. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=358450

anybody does not have the ability to learn how to drive a 5-6 speed should not be behind the wheel of a fast car, if you plan to keep it stock then rock on but if your gonna make it fast teach the woman, i believe in you!
For the ignorant, at least he has the talent to rescue 2 Evo's and build one
. Build it the way you want, and if David needs help to get you an auto box have him call me
. Indy
. Indy
I hope everyone will stop posting the "teach her to drive it" bull****.
He said she hates driving manual, she knows how to drive it. I'd say get a different car, but you already have the Evo that you're rebuilding, might as well give it a shot.

i only read the first page and there it said she could not learn it, anyhow, i got nothing against auto's in fact i love them, Its nice to own both which i do, and i prefer an auto fast car for daily over a 5-6speed fast for daily.
OP keep us updated on the build should be interesting...

PHILLY EVO, the 2002 JDM EVO 7 GT-A has an automatic transmission.
The ecu can likely be moddified to work on USDM 8. If by chance you do take this route and if it is feasable the auto trans hex code to flash to the ecu can be downloaded here: http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic....=automatic+awd.
Good luck on whatever route you choose. I would never swap in an auto trans mainly because I wouldn't want my wife driving my car.

I have pricing on a new trans and am working on what else is needed to convert the car, a new trans without shipping from Japan is 3800 pounds. I have not converted that to US currency but it isn't cheap.
