Finished install of HKS Inlet Manifold

Installed and running! Thanks everyone for their help in the "effect on tuning" thread. It made me more confident adjusting the tune by understanding the theory behind things a little bit better. The new setup ran about a half point leaner on boost across the range, except for maybe after 7k. I was too focused on what I was doing to save a log, but I can load the previous map and do a pull if anyone must see.

The first pull on boost it picked up just a single tick of det, because it was a half point lean or so (target AFR is 12:1). I fixed the fueling and the det went away. I then bumped up the ignition by two degrees on boost and still no det. This told me my safety margin was still there. This was at night so I want to go out in the middle of a hot day and play with the ignition a bit more.

Here is some pics... deffo not a show car but it is working well. Car is idling well even with no IAC and the stepper motor controls disabled in my Autronic.

That would be pretty difficult, given that the AMS manifold is still in the plastic prototype stage and there are no production models available for awhile...

I like the car man. OH and I LOVE that manifold... if it only fit my Evo, I would have gotten it when DB built my car.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I went to do more tuning yesterday and the exhaust leak I had on the wastegate flanges went from bad to worse. So I'm waiting for some gaskets from AMS. Prolly for the better cuz Shep told me the other day he doesn't recommend the Redline 75-90 for the t-case that I'm using so I got to order some heavy shockproof. Being in the Caribbean this means I'm down for at least 2 weeks waiting to get it in.

I'll update this thread with a few logs and final analysis when I can run the car again.

It's a Magnus long rod 2.4, ported head with std size valves, and MAD spec Piper cams. Yes am running AMS 35R kit to which I swapped in an HTA 35R about a year ago.

In our first time to the track taking it easy we ran 10.9 with a 1.9 60 ft and shifting 5th gear on street tires. But since then I've broken front diffs, cracked a bell housing, etc and just could not get another pass in. Now I have in some Kaaz diffs... I've got some Mickey Thompson slicks, etc so just trying to get back up and ready to go the track again.

In the meantime I've just been enjoying the car on pump gas on the street because I don't want to launch the car or run race fuel until I've completely sorted the drivetrain and other bits.

Will definitely start a new thread once all this stuff is complete. Things left are to sort the exhaust leak, install uprated center to front diff hollow shaft, upgrade exedy twin to triple with AMS pull-push conversion, and put back the small RS gravel brakes so I can mount the slicks. So still some work to go!
