air/fuel ratio reading

Just installed a AEM wideband in my car as well as HKS 272 cams. Im getting it tuned in a few days but was curious whats the lowest or leanest i ever want to see the gauge drop to? At heavy throttle (not full) it goes all the way down to 10.0.

Thanks

No higher than ~11.5:1 at the upper RPM. 10:1 is really rich. You need to raise the AFR not lower it lean it out.

On a stock fuel map you shouldnt see leaner than 11.5:1, but depending on your tuner, he might lean it out as far as 12.5:1 at spool.

Allright good to know. I figured it would be running rich with the new cams. Chris black from AMS is tuning it on the 27th so I'm sure it will be tuned good.

Actually you would run leaner with the new cams because of the amount of extra air introduced into the motor. I recommend that you do not 2 go WOT without a tune. Just baby it till the 27th.

I think you mean the opposite. 11.5:1 is rich, not lean. The higher the number the leaner the condition.
