opinions on the K&N drop in filter
opinions on the K&N drop in filter
I have considered getting one of these for the added power and fuel mileage ( every little bit helps ) but as i've read some reviews, I hear people say a lot of bad things about these filters from the oil in them can gum up the intake and such to they let in a lot of small particles of sand that make the motor not last as long. What's everyone's take on this? Perhaps there is a better drop in filter that doesn't have these issues?
The K&N drop-in filter is very good....But you just have to maintain it and clean it once in a while. And when you clean it, don't put too much oil for the re-lubricating step. Just shake off the excess oil afterwards...And you won't hurt the car if you just be careful on cleaning and lubricating. Don't put excessive oil. I don't regret getting mine. It's very simple and efficient.
I've got a K&N drop in and haven't had any problems, everyone is going to have their own opinons of each filter, I've always used K&N on every car I've owned and never had a problem. They have a million mile warranty if that makes you feel better. Just clean it when needed and you will be fine, of course IMO.
