We tune many Volvo cars in USA and Volvo/Saab company say so..

We made a Volvo S40 1.87 liters 2 weeks ago:

640hp on 98 30 psi
802hp on E85 37 psi

Daily driven 10s car

GREAT TO SEE YOU ON HERE PATRIK!!!!

Yes just so there is no confusion they are talking $2.5 a liter not a gallon and There 98 from what I have been told is very close to what 95 octane would be here in the states....again that is not official information just what I have been told from many overseas customers.

so it looks like we're the ones who should stop crying...though apparently it'd be less if it was a 93 octane equivalent, instead of 95 like eric said.

Nice results.

It's difficult to compare RON versus our R+M/2 fuel ratings. 98 RON is somewhere between 93 and 95 octane here in the US, but I've never seen a definitive answer to the question.

$9.25/gal is harsh, damn. ... although with gas prices creeping up, I just said f*** it, and fill up with 100octane @ $6.50/gallon.

Rototest VPAR some car manufacturer uses this,( you get more in a dynojet ).
We also have a Superflow engine dyno, it shows the same at 16% loss

I've done a lot of research about gasoline and octane and I've heard this as well. What everyone needs to remember is that at the pump you are buying a product that is "at least 93 octane" with the R+M/2 method. Not necessarily exactly 93.000 octane. In Europe, the gasoline is actually noted to be of higher quality and usually on the higher side. In our case, we usually get the crap. I'm not saying our 93 could fluctuate between 93 and 96, I'm just saying they are gaurenteeing that with the R+M/2 method, it will be at least 93.
