ACT Street Doesn't Grip Like It Used To

This may be one for the ACT folks to chime in on . . .

I put in the Heavy Duty pressure plate & street disc @ around 20K miles b/c the stock clutch was slipping badly. I loved the HDSS!

I moved in the last couple of weeks and my new driveway has a pretty decent incline; on move in day, I stalled out reversing the car (loaded with junk) into the driveway. After restarting, I revved it up a bit and slipped the clutch more than I should have (that expensive smell started).

The clutch hasn't been the same ever since. I've only got 30K miles on the car (everything's stock aside from the clutch) and I miss that "super grippy" feel.

It's not slipping when fully engaged but it certainly doesn't produce that clunk when shifting fast and driving hard anymore. The clutch also now "forgives" me for mismatching revs when double clutching (maybe this is a blessing in disguise).

Several questions:

1) How (aside from replacing the disc) can I restore the "super grippy" feel on this clutch?

2) How can I replace the clutch disc in a very cheap but high quality manner? If this is to be a regular occurrence, I cannot afford to spend $1300 to have the dealer put in clutches for me.

3) What, if anything, needs to be done to the pressure plate to put in another disc? I know the flywheel must be resurfaced but the pressure plate can just go as is, right?

4) Would the ACT 6 puck sprung disc last longer?

Thanks!
