Custom airbox

I am going to be making a aluminum airbox to encase my filter, I want to incorporate the plastic stock intake piece going into the stock airbox. It will basicly be a aftermarket cone filter with an aluminum shroud, I made the airbox for my quad (pics below) and it worked great, I figure I could do the same for the Evo. Does anyone else have any pics of input to help out? I know there are some companies that make airboxes, but I like the fact of making my own.

Cool, I'll post up pics as soon as I have it done. Are you Active Duty? Are you coming to Luke AFB?

Nice, I'm Active Duty Air Force stationed at Luke, do you have your car out there? If I go back over seas I'm taking my 9.

Hey man that looks awesome! You should try to incorporate the spot that mitsu made under the hood for air rushing in and make it fly into your box. I know it wont make that much of a difference but it would be cool and probably help with heat soak, unless you live in Vegas and it's 119 degrees outside anyways .

I'm going to incorperate the stock intake tube into the aluminum box, maybe take it down a few degrees, its been about the same temp here in PHX.
