The WORKS exhaust is one of the highest quality on the market. The fit and finish are excellent and the sound is great. The sound is very deep, but not obnoxiously loud as many others on the market. With that said, there are lighter and probably less restrctive exhausts available. It is 3" the whole way, but there are some bends around the muffler that will negatively affect performance. I've had a Buschur TBE, and now I run the WORKS. I probably lost a few ponies, but the sound and quality made it worth it for me.

As far as the BOV I don't know that specific make, but if it is VTA (vent to atmosphere) lose it. The OEM Evo IX DV is metal (unlike the VIII's) and is solid up to around 25psi.

Good luck with the car.

A Turbo back exhaust consists of a Downpipe a testpipe or catalytic convertor and a cat-back. You most likely have a cat-back or a full TBE. You'll have to look.
I'm sure someone else can give a better explanation, but the Evo requires a recircilating BOV. VTA will mess with Mass air flow readings.

06rs,
so, I should close the valve as much as possible then, right?

And, anyone know a quick way to take off the front Mitsu badge?

you want the blow off valve to recirculate back into the intake. If it doesnt recirculate i would ditch it and get a stock ix one.

you can check to see if you have a turbo back exhaust or just a catback exhaust by looking underneath your car. You can see if the stock downpipe has heat shields on it and you can see if you have your stock catalytic converter on there.

The WORKS is a pretty soild exhaust from what I have saw. The bov should be recirulated asap. It is really easy to do.

And I have no idea how to take the badge off, sorry

If you take some pictures of the bov we'll be able to see if it is vented or recirculated. the exhaust is of good quality there are exhausts out there that will produce more horsepower but the WORKS system is of good quality and has a nice mellow sound.None of this assuming the BOV is recirculated will hurt the performance of the car.

removing the emblem^

some people chose to just paint the emblem black so it isn't as noticeable.

Urban, thanks. That looks like a PITA. Not so sure I'd like to do that.

well that's the clean way to do it you can also just pop the rivets off the emblem and pull it off but there will be a black bracket back there some people don't notice.

Works is a good company they know their stuff so no worries there.I believe that BOV you have is sound adjustable so i believe that's all your doing by opening and closing it the sound is just the BOV doing its job. what we are saying is that the BOV should be recirculated back into the intake. If you look at the BOV you should see a small hose usually black that goes from the outlet of the BOV back to the intake.
