Ok sounds like a plan, going to go and take it apart again today and do another boost leak test.
All this is good, makes the car drive a lot better, but still doesn't fix the problem of the lean idle. Is there anyway to tell if the o2 sensor or anything else is going bad or am I going to just have to let it run its course until it gets bad enough to throw some sort of code, or cause more problems?

"The Right Stuff" FTW!!!!, fixed the leak perfectly. Now that I have conquered all boost leaks, I can rule that out as a possible cause for the lean idle.

its a product by permatex that is essentially a gasket maker. I used it on both sides of the gasket so that it would fill any surface imperfections and create a perfect seal.

Will that really hold under 15+ psi of boost tho? At least for an extended period. I would have thought you would still have had to have a gasket and that this would be designed for as you say filling in the slight imperfections? Just wondering.

I still used the gasket, I just simply put the gasket maker on either side of it and torqued it down. I then did a boost leak test and it held over 20 psi without problem.

Ok I finally hooked up a serial cable so I could log my A/F ratios from the AEM gauge. I'm attaching a log of my car when it was at idle, its doing the usual thing and running prety lean at times sometimes up to 18.4! Evo guru's please take a look and see if anything seems out of whack, thanks!

As a note, I saved it as a .txt so the headlines don't exactly line up, the afr is the last column on the right

yeah im going lean on idle as well. my car is cammed so the idle does jump around a little but i dont see why it should lean all the way out. Let me know if you find the problem. Also, is there any engine damaged that can be caused due to lean idle?

.cvs is not a valid file format, the thing keeps telling me. I took the .cvs file and zipped it, so that should work if you unzip it, i dont know though

Ok, I think I finally got it, its .csv in a compressed folder, let me know if it works, and thanks again for all of your help. Also can any damage be done due to a lean idle?
