Exclamation reverse block

so i have trouble getting my evo in reverse. When the car is cold i sometimes cant get it in at all so i will have to push it. lol but when the car is warm it usually always goes in. i will ease ahead in first and then try and put it in reverse and that only works sometimes. i need help.

does this happen when your car is cold only?

when my car is cold the gears are very notchy. when i drive for a while it goes in easily. i did some reading and got some suggestions on here that i used the wrong tranny fluid.

i dont think this is your problem but check it out.

well it mostly happens when the car is cold but once and a while when it is warm i still have troubles but i can eventually get it in by easing ahead and then throwing it back in reverse. i used BG syncroshift II for my tranny and thats what everyone told me to use so i think everything was done correctly. I wonder how much it would cost to replace reverse?

its not a hard job, i would say novice difficulty. but if your not sure take it to a shop to be safe they will know exactly where to set it at.

you got the service manual for your car right?
