#1. You need to know how much boost you're running.
#2 There is nothing wrong with that boost controller, they are simple devises just a spring and a ball and a way to change tension on the ball..
#3 Just because the car runs fine at 1/2 throttle doesn't mean the plugs aren't the problem and looking at them won't tell you much they could very well be gaped too wide. What is the gap?

yea ur hitting fuel cut because your over boosting. your stock injectors cannot handel all the gas that your car is trying to push into the motor for all that boost you hitting.. so to fix that problem like everyone else is saying replace that piece o crap one u got in there and get a better one and lower your boost now problem solved

Yeah, Fireman, we need to know his boost level. Do you think that he may be hitting fuel cut? This is possible especially if untuned and running higher boost at lower RPM due to the aftermarket intake and the MBC. Huh?

What intake? What boost level?

OK so this is what I did: I went to AMS on thursday to purchase a boost gauge and possibly a tune. They didn't have Defi so I didn't get it. After I got home I realized that I should have gotten the STRI gauge. At the time I went there, the tunner was busy so I have to go back to get the tune even though they said a base tune would take 10-15min. So gaugeless and tuneless I decided to take off the MBC as to not cause any more fuel cuts. But the funny thing is that the car felt a lot faster at half throttle with the MBC on then it does at WOT without it. So I am first going to get a boost gauge (and probably oil pressure and EGT too) then I'll get the tune and then I'll probably get a better MBC or EBC.

im pretty sure the reason it felt faster with the mbc on at half throttle was cause u were boosting really high which was fast for lower rpm's but when u got into higher rpm's all that boost and not enough fuel = fuel cut. now when u took ur mbc off and used the stock selonoid ur boost was alot lowere but i bet u dident have n e fuel cut. so if u put your mbc back on but lower you boost you should be good

Without the MBC at WOT I didn't have a fuel cut, also this is how I know the plugs are good. I think the controller isn't accurate because even with it close all the way I was getting fuel cuts and it was faster. This is why I'm going to get a better one.

It sounds like this person was having the same problem as me:

This thread never says what the solution is besides change spark plugs and I've already checked mine and spark plugs defiantly aren't what's causing it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
tune! i had the problem but it only happen to me when i boost over 30psi because my car was tuned differently when i put a mbc in. i didnt get it tuned so that would happen. took it out put back in boost solenoid from gm now control boost better

Great!

Now that u have ur MBC off.. where are the lines connected? Have u got them back to the factory boost solenoid??

Im guessing no because the MBC was connected thru TEE on the Nipple coming from the intake manifold... The reason u might not been gettin boost cut is coz u dont have boost at all! (i.e if u havent conneted the lines back)

Update us

The MBC was tapped into the vacuum like between and wastegate and a T that goes into the BOV and Intake Manifold.

I replaced the MBC with a vacuum coupler.

OK, I did some searching about this boost solenoid because i was clueless before. And now I have a few questions.
First off, I want to know if there is suppose to be only one line coming from the wastegate and going to the boost solenoid? This is most important because I saw a picture with a T by the turbo that said "to turbo compressor boost source" and I only have one line going from the wastegate and there is a nipple on the turbo compressor source. I didn't know if that was added on or is there suppose to be a T there from factory.
like so
Second, there is a nipple on the boost solenoid where a vacuum line is suppose to go. Should I reconnect the line coming from the wastegate (or T) to the solenoid?
Third, the other line from the solenoid goes into the intake tube. Is that correct?
Fourth, should I take off that T between the BOV and Intake Manifold and replace it with a coupler?

basically I want the vacuum lines to be like they were stock, for now.

"close all the way"? counter clockwise is lower boost. a boost controller is a boost controller it's pretty much all cosmetics. but you have to know how much you're boosting.
