Found a little suprise while doing a clutch job...

So my friend asked me to install his Carbonetics clutch this past weekend. I was curious to see if the clutch would actually work since I had a bad experience 5 years ago with the ATS clutch in my own car. Anyway, when I was taking his car apart, I noticed there was umm well you can see with the pic. Now this car was relatively stock and has never been at a shop or dealership for any type of work. As you can see in the location, this had to be done where the car was assembled. It appears like a disgruntled employee had a very bad day and decided to take it out on the poor Evo. Well on a good note, I do like how the Carbonetics clutch actually engages, shifts very smooth and no lockout like how I previously had.

Depending on where you are in the country that is pretty common. Rats like to crawl into those spaces, and usually those casings stay warm for hours after the car is off. So they sleep there. The problem is that they like to chew on and eat the cables and harnesses.

I know of several folks in Boston, where I used to live, and where our cars were parked outside had their spark plug wires chewed through. When you look close you could always find rat poop, or dead rats.

Parking outside overnight.
