Evo IX with upgradedcams- Yes or No

Is it worth it to upgrade the stock cams on the Evo IX with MIVEC to go like the GSC1 or HKS272 and so on?
Does it work out when you upgrade the cams on these cars? power improvement, driveability and so on?
I need on info on cams on the Evo IX's with the MIVEC engine.

^Don't listen to him. He's just messing with ya.

To answer your question.......Hell to the yes! Of course is worth it. You don't think that these companies sell $500-800 camshafts so that you put them on and lose power with them. Come on, let's think logically here.

If you decide to put them on, make sure you go to a professional tuner to get your car tune ASAP! Your car will run like crap if you don't tune your car after a cam install, plus is no good for your car to run like that cuz you can screw your internals components really fast.

So yes, put them on and have a blast with them!

Trust me get the cams, the difference is light and day. When I got my cams I went and got my car tuned and the power rush was awesome. If you don't want to upgrade your springs and retainers get GSC S1's or HKS 272, if you can upgrade them go with GSC S2's or Cossie M2 basically the same. If you don't have a tuner nearby where you live you can always get in contact with Mellon here in the forum he is an awesome tuner with great reputation and he'll inform you about the tuning process.

Good luck

thanks for the vote of confidence in Mellon Tuning ralliart, I appreciate it!

EvowagonIX, the IX does get a little bump in power over the VIII thanks to MIVEC but that can be improved much further with a nice set of cams because the stock cams are quite tame.

If you got some cams installed I could tune it remotely for you see www.mellontuning.com to learn about the process and what equipment you would need. Let me know if you have any questions.

My friend have a IX and he had upgraded his cams. he ran a 1/4 of 12.8 stock cams to 12.4 with hks cams and tune. I'm about to go with HKS 272 cams, meth injection and a tune at CFT in Orlando. I'm hoping 380whp+.
