exhaust tip question

Maybe this is a dumb question if I am getting a exhaust tip for a 3" pipe do i need to get an exhaust tip that has a 3" inlet to get welded on?

imagine this exhaust without the tip thats what i currently have, I just wanna make sure i buy the right size tip that I need

Not sure exactly what your asking but if your running a 3" diameter pipe from the Cat then you should get a 3" exhaust tip thats 3"... otherwise the back pressure will differ from stock... (can anyone elaborate more?)

I dont wanna bash on what you are trying to do but i see no point in an exhaust tip like the one on that page. fwiw, I like the raw looking tip. do u have an exhaust system that comes with a tip? or are u using the stock evo exhaust?

you would have to get a 3" tip and have the exhaust shop do the work. yes get a 3" inlet.

at least 3" strange idea? why do you want a tip instead of just leaving the pipe?

uhh the whole reason you buy an aftermarket exhaust, is to alter the back pressure. you have the chewbacca theory in full effect with what you just said.

If you have 3" piping you need a tip with a 3" inlet.
