DC downpipe on my IX mr

I have a ix mr and and dc sports downpipe, it vibrates against the t case when in idle. Is this a fitment problem or was it a poor install?

Mine doesn't vibrate against anything ? I had it wrapped with header wrap and it rubbed against the factory support bars. I added washers for clearance.

How would spacers keep the DP from hitting the TC? The spacers(washers) are for the frame braces, and as such should only rectify DP to frame brace clearance issues, no?

I am curious. When you installed your new DP did you tighten the DP/O2 fasteners first, or did you tighten the fasteners between the DP/catback bolts first?

I've found that it's best to leave the DP/catback flange bolts out until last, and align the DP 1st by tigntening down at the DP/O2 flange first. Once you tighten the bolts up on top first, then check DP/TC clearance and the DP/catback flange bolt holes for misalignment. Sometimes a misaligned exhaust(catback) can pull the DP off axis.

It sounds to me as though you just have minimal clearance between DP and TC. Disconnect the catback-DP bolts to see if a misaligned catback is yanking your DP off-axis. The clearance on my JDM VIII was very tight. Incidentally, my DC is the new version.

I ended up bending one of the hangers welded onto the DP slightly so that it pulled the DP away from the TC. Also, I used one Kartboy bushing/hanger on the offside to also pull the DP off-axis slightly while retaining the more compliant factory rubber hanger/bushing on the TC side. This will pull the DP away from the TC about 3/8" which should be just enough.
