I guess I'm still left with a question. How loud is the signature exhaust system (e.g. relative to the stock system or say a Porsche 996 sport exhaust)?

Shows that my frame of reference is somewhat small.....

Tom I have a question about your boost readings with the exhaust only. I just installed the standard series with no other mods at all. My boost seems to spike up to 19PSI or so then it flattens back down to 15 flat. Stock it seamed to only taper to only 16.5.
Is this normal, did you guys notice anything like this with your car?

Thanks in advance,

Jason

When I installed my turbo-back I removed the boost restrictor from the line at the same time. Since everything was out of the way I figured I get it removed then and not have to tear apart the car again. I spent four days driving and trying not to let my boost go too high . I haven't had any problems with holding boost since I've put everything back together.

Have you re-checked all of the connections on your intake side to make sure they aren't leaking? When I had my car apart I went through and tightened all of my fittings - a couple of them were originally loose enough that I might have been loosing some boost while stock.

Tom, how's your fuel mileage with the new XEDE? I've gone from about 290 miles between fills to about 450. Talk about a nice plus in addition to the added power.

Ok - did a sanity check yesterday, but didn't get a chance to re-post. The 450 figure has to be wrong; I probably topped my tank and forgot to reset my trip meter. I'll try to get a better figure this week. I know it's helped, but I doubt that much.

Question Need a little assistance...

Ok, couple of question because I have my Vishnu Standard Exhaust sitting on my living room floor.

1) Do you reuse your gasket between the turbo and downpipe or should I order up a new one? In the Tech Manual it's called the Exhaust Fitting Gasket. (p. 15-16)

2) What is the "Fitting Kit" used for? It is mention on line 18 of the instructions and it is part of the contents of the kit but I don't understand how to use them.

3) I didn't get a "1 Taipan EVO 8 Rubber". I assume that is a rubber exhaust hanger. Did you guys get that?

4) Everyone seems to have problems with the stud on the turbo. What is the best method to attempt removal w/o having to cut the original stud down.

5) erioshi - What is the "boost restrictor in the line" you are reffering to?

Thanks in advance!

I reused the turbo gasket. No problems. The fitting kit I assume is the hardware bag with the studs, bolts and gaskets. I don't remember it in the instrections, didn't really look at them though, they were pretty vague. To answer your 3rd question, I did recieve the Tiapan rubber hanger, but I wouldn't worry to much, I matched it up to the stock one and they seemed to be about the same size.

As far as the lower turbo stud, mine would not budge and I used half a can of Liquid wrench on it. Most people seem to be having problems with it, you may get lucky though. Just don't break it off or your really in trouble. I ended up running a nut down on the stock one and cutting it off with a grinder. Dont take off to much though or there wont be enough left to bit onto.

If your planning the install yourself. Its really not to bad. Just a little time consuming. Took me about 6hours, but I was in the parking lot of my townhouse on jack stands. If you have lift access and air tools I assume it would be considerably quiker.

Here is a picture of what I think is the "Fitting Kit"? I have everything else (nuts, bolts, stud, gaskets...) execpt the exhaust hanger.

There are 5 of these?

Thanks!!!

Ahhhh..................indeed. Yes 5. There spacers to give the control arm connectiong bars extra clearance for the down-pipe section. I think the front has 3 and the rear two, or vice versa. It will make sense when your under the car and take a look at everything.

BTW... I'd worry about them. Those cross bars were put there for a reason.
