overheating issue

okay so i got an 06 evo mr and i got some overheating issues and it's kinda frustrating me because it don't stay overheated. it overheats when my radiator fan turns on and it would go back down when when it turns off. and when i turn off my car and turn it back on it will just start climbing up. it always happens when i'm stuck in traffic or idling and it's frustrating because this is my 3rd time bringing it to the dealer and they can't duplicate the overheating problem when it's there.. if anyone knows about this, can someone tell me what the problem might be? and also where my oil temp should always be at?

Your wording is a bit difficult to understand, and that may be why noone has responded yet. But, just to give some info in general on how the cooling system works on our vehicles (and pretty much all automobile)...
There are 7 major components in the cooling system
1. Coolant - Breaks down after time and looses its efficiency and must be kept at the appropriate ratio of coolant to water.
2. Water Pump - this is driven off of your timing belt, and pumps the heated coolant out of the engine block and through the radiator.
3. Radiator - Basically this is a heat exchanger that removes heat from the coolant that is pumped out of the hot engine block.
4. Thermostat - When the coolant is cool(right at start up and in cold weather) it blocks any coolant from flowing into the engine block so that it can heat up. These are designed to break in the open position so that coolant is continuously flowing through the engine, and your engine will never fully heat up in cooler weather.
5. Hoses - These carry coolant to and from the radiator and engine
6. Overflow Container - Extra coolant is pumped in and out of the container by the coolants pressure, based on the temperature/volume of coolant in the cooling system.
7. Radiator Cap - this is the pressure relief valve which is designed to open in case of overpressure

One thing to note: The Cooling system is a closed system and the coolant is kept from boiling away because the system is closed and the pressure keeps it in liquid form.

#7. Is the cap holding pressure?

I brought it to the dealer today and they said my wires were overheating and melted. They said something about the aftermarket ignition control module overpowered the wires and smoked it up. Can this really cause my wires to get hot and melt? I don't get this ****.

What wires melted? What aftermarket ignition are you running? Sounds like the dealership bailing on warranty because of unrelated mods.

What wires in your ignition system could have possibly melted to cause your engine overheating?
