you dont need a tune with bolt ons like that. i had an air intake and upper/lower IC pipes with no tunes and gained some power, but then after i got cams and a tune, it was insane what a difference it made. If i were you just wait til the cams are in so your not wasting your money. if you for some reason decide against the cams, id still get tuned

Yes the same applies. Although, sometimes certain mods will make your car feel weird w/o a tune. A tune unlocks hidden power..instantly!

No you dont need a tune but you may hit new load targets that weren't previously tuned. so you might not get the full potential of the mod.

I noticed a huge difference in power after intake and tune.

Sorry for the newb question. I am also bone stock. What is the difference between a tune and an ECU flash/reflash? If left stock, would a tune add hp?

A tune is having someone base the reflash on your car specifically. This is usually done in person (either street tune or on a dyno), but there are some reputable tuners that you can mail data to and they will tune for your car that way. Usually a reflash refers to someone just giving you a fuel/timing map that is supposed to be better than stock but not based on readings from your car, just general knowledge of the evo.

A tune should add hp even on a stock car, and could improve fuel mileage if the car is running rich, which I understand most evo's do from the factory.

No problem. And as others have said, a tune is good even if you plan to keep your car stock, but it would be better to wait if you do plan to mod the car in the near future until after doing the mods to get the tune.

I have a Perrin CBE and intake kit and the car needs a tune bad, I am getting lots of knock and the car feels much more sluggish on throttle response then before, even with just the exhaust. Seems like the intake really changed the tune. I am getting 6+ knock counts at multiple places.
