Mitsubishi Turbo Nomenclature

Post # 7 from Forced Performance has answered the main question for me.

In case others are interested in how Mitsubishi turbo naming works, read the following:

TD05HR-16G6C-10.5T - This is the model of a MIH turbo. (USDM Evo IX)

The "TD05H" denotes the turbine wheel

The "R" on the end of it is due to the fact that it is a reverse flowing turbo.

The "16G6C" is the compressor wheel

The "10.5T" denotes the turbine nozzle area

The compressor housing is not identified in the nameplate.

Clarify the part in bold?

USDM = U.S. Domestic Market as opposed to Japanese or European or whatever.

I believe "TD05H" is the turbine and "16G" is the compressor wheel and the "10.5T" is the hotside size

While I do appreciate the response, I am well aware of this info.

Then which one denotes the compressor housing?

the model designation does not have a code in it for compressor cover. Turbine wheel, compressor wheel, then turbine nozzle area.

16g6, 15gk2 etc indicate compressor aero.

Exactly what I was looking for, thank you! That clears up a lot!

the compressor wheel trim is 50. It has a exducer diameter of 68mm. We make a 68mm HTA wheel, but in 52 trim, slightly larger. We use this in the White model.

It all confuses the hell out of me to be quite honest... The trim, the A/R, T3's and T4's, etc... I read an article about turbos that explained chra's and the differences of blade configurations, sizes, etc... But nothing to answer the basic naming questions...
