Suman's Revenge - Part II - PT62/62 - 679 whp on pump
Those who have been following the story of Suman's project will remember that he previously was using the Gt37 a/k/a T67Ptrim which is similar to the turbo I use on my Dyno Flash Evo 8
Suman did not care for the laggy response between shifts and lack of power to the area of the curve and he elected to try the new Precision Turbo line up of billet wheel turbos. His selection was the PT62/62 with genuine ported compressor inlet and 63 a/r ford 5 bolt T3 turbine housing which is very similar to the so called AMS Gt850
Suman has a stock head Evo IX with valves, built bottom end , cosworth cams, AEM, Aquamist and other supporting mods including a Buschur exhuast and race fmic
Tonight with the addition of the new turbo I did some quick tuning on the dyno jet and came up with some really great results
Our previous best with the Gt37 was in the 650 range on pump gas and alcky at 37 psi
This evening we beat that with ease and have a significantly faster spooling turbo which makes a lot more area under the curve
I compared this turbo to the HTA Gt35 of the Bad Bish and found that this 62 mm wheel is able to breath a bit better up top perhaps 20 whp additional capacity but the Bad Bish was about 150 - 200 rpms faster to spool
Here is the peak pump gas and alcky dyno sheet

Note - I am now very impressed with the Indy Wilson intake maifold - it seemed to really shine on this combo
Here is an interesting comparison between the two turbos at around 33 - 34 psi

You can see that the PT62/62 is much faster to spool and has the same top end at that bost level
Here is the TQ and WHP at 33-34 psi

There are some videos comming out on the Dyno Flash You Tube channel which I can not post here due to rules regarding posting of fast driving on public roads but which many users may find entertaining
I was super impressed with this turbo and in light of the results here I think I wll try this unit on my STI which currently has the GT35 and which makes 540 whp on pump with alcky

Not bad for a one off v3 with a 3". I'm glad you you like it, now take it to the track. Indy
