invest your money in buyer more aggressive cams. When i went from hks 272's to my cosworth m3' 280's the car was a DIFFFFFFERENT animal.

I'm going to put it this way:
Cheap and fast won't be reliable
Cheap and reliable won't be fast
Fast and reliable won't be cheap

Choose one, because there are a lot of parts that you have that just aren't worth the discount. That being said I agree with everyone else get more aggressive cams, toss the clutch for an Exedy twin or even a Tilton one, and please do NOT install that Megan manifold.

Thanks for the advice guys, keep in mind that I am not going crazy with a race car - this is my only daily driver. Driveability is #1. Also spending big $$ on replacing parts with extreme-racing parts for little to no HP gain is not too cost effective for me.

With that in mind,

The FMIC and piping I have is plenty big, so switching to all Buschur parts would be great, but just not cost effective at this point.

I think the Tein coilovers I have on the car are good enough... no need to spend another $1500 on coilovers that wont be much difference on a street.

My biggest concern is with cams. I know the GSC's and the Cossie's and Kelford may make some more power, but how much crappier idle are they going to be over the HKS 272's? I agree more aggressive cams are ideal, but I dont want a crap idle.

Also remember I am in NY where passing car inspection is a *****. They plug your car in for emmissions, etc. Not sure if overly-lopey cams would cause me to not pass. I already know i will have to switch to stock exhaust to pass.

I think I am going to take my chances with a ported Megan manifold. If it cracks or my numbers are low, I can just throw on and/or port my stocker.

Thanks guys

I live in NY as well and there are a handful of guys with sick evos in the upstate NY area. However we all have daily driven cars that are not evos so I cant offer much advice but it might be worth to save up and go with something that people are reccomending like the IC and other bushur parts but i dk how crazy you are going or plan on going

I think I'm going to just get tuned on the mods I listed. Gonna have the Megan exhaust manifold ported & coated and the HKS 272's installed. I dont mind being the test subject on a budget FP red daily driver bolt-on stock ECU car looking for good reliable HP on E85.

I bought the car with 10k miles in Feb 2004 and have spent $30k in total for the car/mods listed. I drove it for over 4 years near stock.. Lets see what it does with these mods! I'm excited!

I'll let you guys know the numbers early next month!

what the hell are you talkin about crappy idle? If you have a good tuner you have nothing to worry about...personally i like the lopyness but you well not have a crappy idle with the cossies, kelfords, etc.....dont go with the hks like somebody already said its just giving up hp

Idle wont be crappy if you get a tunner that knows what he is doing so no reason to worry about an idle issue my car idles like crap and it daily drives just fine but im on a larger turbo so

Also just get a QuarterMaster or Exedy Twin Disk the ACT wont cut it for a FP RED and just keep the mod's listed and you will be fine if you aren't looking to spend more money changing parts out for different kinds

I'd Recommend the QuarterMaster sold by Devo Tuning

Most of all, don't install this megan manifold. Get a stock one and port it, it's gonna cost the same. Good Luck

Won't big a$$ 280's be a way too aggressive cam for the Red? Or is that just me.
